JUPITER, Fla. – Florida A&M Men's Golf is back in action this week as the Rattlers travel to Jupiter, Florida, set to compete in the 54-hole Florida Atlantic Invitational hosted by FAU at The Bear's Club. The event gets underway on Monday, Sept. 21, and runs through the following day.

ABOUT THE COURSE
At The Bear's Club, a golf community nestled among 369 immaculate sylvan, sandy acres a mile from the Atlantic, Jack Nicklaus expertly transformed the native environment with his exacting standards of design. The result is an 18-hole championship course – a gently rolling 7,164-yard layout that exudes a Lowcountry feel as it moves through a property rich in native vegetation, old oaks, pines, cypress trees and wetlands areas.

Aesthetically and strategically placed throughout are 354 bunkers, many of them steeply flashed. They were inspired by the bunkers at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia, which Nicklaus visited in 1998 when he was captain of the United States Presidents Cup team. A collection of medium-to-large undulating greens demand precision; they are rounded off at the edges and feed into hollows and chipping areas.

The club possesses a memorable collection of par-5 holes, anchored by the gorgeous home hole, which features an inspiring green site. The long pear-shaped green is tucked into the elbow of a lake, leaving a generous bailout area to the right. Just beyond the water that guards the green sits the impressive stone facade of the grand Tuscan-style clubhouse.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE RATTLERS
Florida A&M Men's Golf student-athlete Sacha Robinson finished up his stay in the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on Tuesday evening, with the event taking place at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
 
Sascha Robinson, a 6-foot-6, junior from Plymouth, Massachusetts, was representing Florida A&M Men's Golf in the prestigious event.
 
Robinson finished his 54-hole competition firing a three-round 226 (+10) to finish tied for 24th in a very competitive field of 36 collegiate golfers. The field included some of the nation's best from teams such as Texas and Texas A&M, respectively.
 
The graduate of Thayer Academy shot an opening round 77, before shaving four strokes off his opening round with a 1-over 73 in Monday's second round – which included 36 holes of golf altogether.
 
On Tuesday, Robinson finished the tournament with a 5-over 77 scorecard.
 
Daniel Bennett (207, -9) of Texas defeated teammate Matt Comegys (207, -9) in a playoff for the individual trophy.
